McKayla Rae and Montana 'Tan-Tan" - Lovers and keepers of Highland cows, were married at Chapel by the Sea and their reception was held at The Islander in Emerald Isle, NC. Every couple is very special, and these two lovelies were no exception. Montana and McKayla are sweet and very laid back, they enjoy the simplicity and practicality in all things - and that is exactly what the day unveiled.
Why The Chapel By The Sea?
Here is the beautiful detail - This is where my bride, her siblings and her family worship and they have been part of this congregation for years and their pastor has seen McKayla and her siblings become the extraordinary adults they are today. So, it was perfect to have had this very important day celebrated here, in this very meaningful place.
Brian, her dad walked McKayla down the aisle to the altar where she met Montana again for "I Dos" as they sealed their commitment to one another by lighting a unity candle, her siblings Jasmine and Issac sang a beautiful song with lyrics perfectly chosen to fit the moment.
My couple shared a first look prior to the ceremony. Laughs were shared, groom said time and again, this was the best day and he was celebrating life and love.
After the ceremony all guests had poppers filled with flower potpourri for a little pre send-off on their way to the reception at The Islander.
Amongst other enchanting facts about this day: my bride's mom is an extraordinary seamstress, it was a given she designed and tailored her wedding dress. Many family and friends came from places as far as Nebraska. The bride sang 'The Vow" Acapella to her husband.
My couple wanted pictures oceanside with her bridal party and also, we chased after a few sunset portraits, before dances and dinner.
My newlyweds chose lavender colors for their special day - florals were eco-friendly with some organic accents.
