In the words of our couple...
"On August 4th, 2018, Katie and Josh had the chance to meet at a Radford University alumni baseball game held at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Little did they know, that this event would mark the beginning of a beautiful journey. They were both enjoying the game, cheering for their favorite team, and struck up a casual conversation while waiting in line for beer and hotdogs. They shared a connection as Radford University alumni provided a natural icebreaker, and they quickly found themselves engaged in an easygoing and enjoyable conversation.
After the game, they went their separate ways. Later that night, Josh found Katie on Instagram and decided to private message her. His message was "Did you make it home alright?". The next day, Katie responded back and since then, they chatted back and forth, finding themselves excited to reconnect and continue the connection they had started in person.
Finally, Josh made a bold move. He shared his phone number with Katie, and extended an invitation for her to travel down to Richmond the following weekend. Katie was hesitant to go see him, but she decided to take the leap of faith.
While together, they went on their first official date and their bond continued to strengthen as they spent more time together. Over time, their connection grew into a loving and committed relationship, filled with shared experiences, laughter, and mutual support."
The story of how Katie and Josh met at the Radford University alumni baseball game on that summer day in 2018 serves as a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful connections can be sparked in unexpected places. Their journey from casual acquaintances to romantic partners showcases the beauty of seizing opportunities, taking chances, and embracing the unknown.
On Saturday, September 28th - Katie, Josh, family and 128 of their friends celebrated a very special day!
First surprising looks between bridesmaids and groom were shared, followed by Katie meeting her daddy on the side garden of the Estate, in which she delivered a sweet gift in a form of a tie her would wear on this day. And, a live painter [ Tifanni Rose ] was also a surprise that the couple planned for their guests to experience, so truly beautiful!
Her colors were classic greens, whites and blacks, with florals from Coastal Petals delivered in roses, hydrangeas, baby-breaths and greenery.
A short ceremony that involved guests to search for the ring box under their seat for the exchanges, and then after the I do's - family portraits and then introductions and, reception.
At Sunset we enjoyed the most gorgeous break of reds over the sound, making a dream to obtain their creative portraits...
Catering was provided by Circa81. Merrell Estate & Gardens designed their gorgeous wedding cake. This wedding channeled all the black tie classic vibes... With ZERO doubts!
